Mercy. Favor. Glory.

When you die, die on E. Leave no dream left behind.

I had the crazy, awesome opportunity to represent my company - DeBisi - at a celebrity pre-event for the BET Awards a couple of weeks ago. When I say it was only God, I mean it was: ONLY GOD! The opportunity literally came out of nowhere; I did not solicit it; it just came to me. And I so thank God. I flew out to Los Angeles and had a great time meeting and speaking with people with my friend from college, Tenley. She was such a great help, navigating me through the sunny streets of LA.

This is what I wore. I figured I may as well be bright (and wear my favorite color) when I am among the stars. :)

Kenia Made Me Do It

"The impossible is often the untried".  - Jim Goodwin

I went to my good ol' pal Kenia to sew my dress for my friend's wedding (in which I was a bridesmaid), and she laughed at me for the style I brought. Why? She said it wasn't my style. So she made me think of something new (haha), and here is the result...

Can you see me sinking in the mulch? :) Have a blessed week(end). xo

Just Look Over Your Shoulders, Honey!

Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner. – Lao Tzu

This lady! I've known Khadija since high school, and each time I see her, she ALWAYS looks great. This dress is everything.

Kente Girl

Remind yourself daily of God's love.

Hi everyone. This year has proven to be a productive one thus far (hence my scarce postings; though I hope to be back up on it in the coming months). I am so grateful of God's mercies and blessings.

Here's is Banke at Lynda's wedding. I so love the incorporation of the Kente into her dress.

Have a blessed week. xo

The Bride and Her Maidens

Show me your friends, and I will tell you the kind of person you are.

I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid for my friend this past weekend. As I told her, I could not have done this for just anyone; but I wholeheartedly believe their union was a match made in Heaven. It was such a joy and blessing to be a witness to God's awesomeness in her [and her husband's!] life. All around the wedding was spectacular. Great ceremony, great music, great food, great people, great time. It was truly a wonderful way to kick off this year's wedding season. (=

A couple of pictures below, including all her maidens in our aso ebi during the traditional engagement.

I just had to add this picture. So awesome.
