Hey, hey all. Hope you all been having a great summer. I sure have...a productively busy summer. But no complaints here. Summer is winding down. Fall is approaching. Styles will change soon to adapt to the climate change. Exciting stuff.

 

Also exciting...I will be speaking at this year's Blogalicious Weekend Experience in Baltimore, MD, 10 - 12 September 2015! I am so thrilled to share this good news with you all. It is certain to be a good time sharing information with the audience on how to build a fashionable brand - DOs, DONTs, MUSTs, TRICKs, etc. I will speaking along side the awesomenesses of Sonia Smith-Kang and Leah Frazier. It promises to be a great informative session, which I personally look forward to learning from. Yay!

African Woman

As Mother Teresa stated, love is a buring desire within an individual. It's not selfish or greedy. But patient, kind, respectful, and thus, it produces joy in you, and to others whom you extend your love. Choose to be a joyful person.

This is what I wore to a wedding a couple of week's back. Kenia did it again. This is seperates - a shirt and a [wrap] skirt. I love how she left the legs of the African Women right by the neck line so my head sits right on top of the legs. [haha] It's safe to say this is my new favorite outfit.

I had the crazy, awesome opportunity to represent my company - DeBisi - at a celebrity pre-event for the BET Awards a couple of weeks ago. When I say it was only God, I mean it was: ONLY GOD! The opportunity literally came out of nowhere; I did not solicit it; it just came to me. And I so thank God. I flew out to Los Angeles and had a great time meeting and speaking with people with my friend from college, Tenley. She was such a great help, navigating me through the sunny streets of LA. 

This is what I wore. I figured I may as well be bright (and wear my favorite color) when I am among the stars. :)

The Bride and Her Maidens

I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid for my friend this past weekend. As I told her, I could not have done this for just anyone; but I wholeheartedly believe their union was a match made in Heaven. It was such a joy and blessing to be a witness to God's awesomeness in her [and her husband's!] life. All around the wedding was spectacular. Great ceremony, great music, great food, great people, great time. It was truly a wonderful way to kick off this year's wedding season. (=

Happy February, all! 2014 is definitely showing itself to be a lot like 2013, already rolling along its way rather quickly.

It discusses the breakthrough of African designers and their fashion into mainstream America.  It features Silver Spring, Maryland based designer Olatide "Tide" Adeniyi and "Project Runway" Season 5 runner-up Liberian designer Korto Momolu, two of the 21 designers who will showcase during the July 14-16 African Fashion Week in New York.
