The Year of the Gentleman

Rarely do we ever see men adorned in Ankara. But as it is becoming more popular, men are beginning to heed to the newest fashion staple. Ankara for men is migrating into styles more than just the traditional Agbada (ahg-bah-dah), a heavy overlay gown of intricate embroidery, or Danshiki (dan-she-key), a V-shaped loose or fitted shirt with embroidery. Hello All.

First and foremost, let me apologize for disappearing into thin air. As some of you know I am a full-time graduate student and I also work full-time.  So needless to say I did not have much time for much else but to work and study.  But I am definitely not to let what happened this semester happen next year.

Secondly, Happy Holidays to you all. I hope everyone has been having a great holiday season.

The Fellas

Here are a couple of styles the men wore with the ankara.  There were actually quite a few different styles which were nice, but I couldn't capture them all.

People are becoming more creative with ankara. Here a guest used it to make a bow tie and pocket square...which I absolutely love! Simple and straight to the point. 

Men!

This month at Jesus House, DC is the Biazo Conference 2011. It features various different events of how to get closer to God, as well as guest pastors from across the world, including Pastor Paula White and Dr. Mensa Otabil. Yesterday was International Day, and the country of focus was Trinidad and Tobago.
