Everyone has a goal to do one thing or another. However, without consistent (my ne favorite word) and persistent dedication to that goal it will forever remain a goal, and no an achievement. It is important to be disciplined and diligent in efforts to obtain ones goals because no one will desire for you to win more than you do for yourself.

This is a very popular pattern in Nigeria. While it is a type of Ankara, it is specifically called "Tye-and-Dye" given its print pattern.  Can you tell I had a good old time taking these photos...even in the cold? (=

Whew...it has been a busy season in life. I hve been working traveling a lot, but most importantly became an aunt to the most gorgeous baby EVER! So much happening, and I am grateful for it all. I do pray that all is going well in each of your lives as well.

I wore this blazer to my niece's baby dedication. I have had this material for some time, and finally got around to making something with. Finally. Happy weekend ahead. xoxo

Rarely do we ever see men adorned in Ankara. But as it is becoming more popular, men are beginning to heed to the newest fashion staple. Ankara for men is migrating into styles more than just the traditional Agbada (ahg-bah-dah), a heavy overlay gown of intricate embroidery, or Danshiki (dan-she-key), a V-shaped loose or fitted shirt with embroidery. I've been so busy with preparing to graduate from graduate school, that I have not been posting as much as I would like or have in the past- from what you can see. 

This lovely lady in the following pics is (Aunty) Janet. She is one of the most fashionable people you will ever meet/see. We honestly have very similar styles (maybe that's why I adore her so much!).  She designed the outfits you see below.
